Nuovi Amori

New bag & shoes for the new year! Miu Miu studded nappa clutch, Miu Miu crystal flats, Fendi B purse and Sam Edelman snakeskin ballet flats. Not included here is a pair of Tod’s red patent loafers which I got for 65 euros at The Mall.

There is a very sad and tragic story behind my shopping. But to summarize in just one line — I would have bought a lot more stuff if not for the fact that my money was stolen. I. am. really. disgusted. with. people. who. rob. and/or. steal. for. a. living. May God have mercy on them all.

On the other hand, I had probably the best trip as yet. The most fulfilling, enriching and knowledge gained trip I’ve ever been on. A special thank you to my boyfriend and his parents who have enabled and supported me throughout the trip :)

Hope to post pics of my trip but there are like 129817941 of them. On a random note, how has your new year been? Stay safe and joyful!

PS: I think I really do love the color black, don’t I? All the stuff are in black! Shocking to know actually, haha.

Love, Adela

The Breton Tee

As some of you might be aware, the stripes are back! This time, much fiercer than before. Stripes will no longer bore us out nor look the same again. I’ve always loved stripes, if you’ve been following my blog, you’ll come to realize that I do have quite a handful of ’stripey’ stuff like tees and bodycon dresses. And now, the bigger reason to take this love a step further is that Zara has come up with their own version of breton tee, which is in my humble opinion, the most awesome breton tee I’ve ever seen. At 60 bucks! And yeah, with shoulder pads too!

I wore: Breton shoulder pad tee, Zara. Washed out denim shorts, Paige Denim. Glitter flats, Repetto. Bag, Balenciaga. Watch, Franck Muller.

Special thanks to the boy who bought me the breton tee!! ;)

PS: My Twitter account has now been changed from Adeliet to lovecoutureluxe. Tweet with me today!

PPS: I am deliberating which bag to bring for my Italy trip. Grey (view the bag here) or red balenciaga? Grey would make a lovely neutral and will definitely attract much lesser unwanted attention as compared to the red, but the red is an awesome red which brings out the best in every outfit! What do you think?

The Day That Seems Almost Forever

Happy graduation to me! This is my big day and I would love to share this piece of joyous news with everyone who is reading my blog (and yes, this is probably the only non-faceless entry)! I’ve been waiting for this day to arrive forever and finally it has! I can’t tell you enough how grateful, happy and blessed I am to be able to complete this important phase of my life. Now the next big step is a pretty obvious one, but I’m not so sure if I’m cut out to work full force yet. I feel that working isn’t really my calling at this moment. It’s gonna take a while to discern but I really want to discern and decide carefully before taking any plunge. It’s really crucial to make a prudent decision and I don’t want factors such as the lack of time, money, job status and such to affect the outcome of my decision… so we shall see.

PS: Thank you all for your very very sweet and lovely comments! Grandpa has started treatment today and let’s continue to hope and pray he’ll remain strong and be okay!

PPS: Thank you gorgeous Lily from bleedforfashion for the ‘Haute Mess Award’! I’m very honored and would love to pass this on to rollupyoursleeve, modediktat, thumbelina fashionista and little fashion treasury.

God bless! xoxo

Love always, Adela

The YSL Muse Two

I don’t remember myself posting a proper entry of my muse two (I know I’m slow at this) so I am gonna dedicate this entry to one of my favorite designer labels. But first, allow me to rant about how nasty this untreated buffalo leather is. Being caught unaware, I killed the bag with water stains and from then on, I had to subject myself to the trouble of consistently spraying the bag with scotch guard. Nevertheless, this bag rocks any outfit because of its formal yet slouchy and casual look, plus its strangely beautiful multi colors? Gorgeous!! Did I also mention that it fits a ton? But beware for those who want to get this bag — I’ve never used the flap. It’s a literally useless function. The thing is, when you open the flap, the entire bag opens up and sags down and you may encounter having things falling out from your bag so don’t be surprised. My method to get pass this impracticality is to ‘fish’ with my hand. God gave us a sense of touch, right? This bag allows me to make full use of it!

Very low exposure hence explains for the grainy and/or blurry photos. Look at them from an artistic point of view, okay? I was trying out the symmetry and rugged/ripped look with bright pink accessories to match.

In complexgeometries black split square t, Siwy ripped jeans, Chanel black patent heels, Matthew Williamson for H&M leather studded belt & YSL Muse Two in multi color.

New layout, new look. What do you think? I’ve tried to change my comments link to make it more visible but I couldn’t really mess around with the css too much because of the original template I was adapting from. Yikes I know! But it’s more visible as it’s aligned to the right at the top of every entry now? ;) More constructive comments are always welcome! Thanks for those who have suggested to me! I hope everything looks better now!

Lanvin Spring 2009

I’m really facing a difficult time preparing for my finals… it’s amazing how I have to be killed by my last semester! What a way to end my university education? I’m really quite jaded now, or apparently what my dad said so. Whatever it is, come what may for I know my big man up there is watching me every moment and will provide for me no matter what. And before I am murdered by my traumatizing exam preparation, here’s some outfit pics of today featuring my new Lanvin tee from Spring ‘09. I think mom was really generous to get it for me but the boyfriend doesn’t quite like it. What’s your take?

I paired the shirt with J Brand skinny jeans (my all-time favorite before Siwy took over), Jil Sander navy patent wedges and Balenciaga marine (from 2007) brief bag in giant gold hardware. I think the color of my finger nails doesn’t quite match but I love shocking pink! ;)

Upclose details of the crazily cute shirt with awesome meticulous details. I’m mad over details!

I love the silhouette of the wedges… they are indeed my favorite wedges other than the Louboutin Miss Boxe black wedges which I’ve overabused and worn out.

And here’s a classic shot of me being cheeky, happy and doing crazy things (or basically just being me)…

Not very happy now but I know I will be in 2 weeks! Can’t wait for all the trauma to be over and begin enjoying (more like recovering, lol) my holidays. I can’t tell you enough how much concealer I need to use on my eyebags for the past week (that’s the only make up I use — I think I might need to stock up on them).

Oh yes, it’s my country’s birthday today — Happy birthday Singapore!

Now you guys have a good week ahead :)

Spartan Awesomeness

Sometimes I admire people’s fashion guts when I look at the stuff they pull off. Although I’m always known for doing silly and crazy things half the time (in my life at least), that doesn’t necessarily imply that I would be daring in my fashion style. I really like the whole gladiator trend and I’ve ‘invested’ quite a lot in it. I don’t see it as a ‘trend’ actually, but more of a personal style which I feel comfortable in – a mix of complexity, elegance and sexiness? However, I recently took the gladiator style a step (more like a leap) further… when you look below, you’ll know where I’m getting at.

Yeaaaaaa!! SPARTA!! Awesome, huh? I like how crazzyyy they look. My guy friend was commenting how crazy they are but there is this sense of lure that keeps him looking at them! He was like, “These are weird and crazy but I actually kinda like them after looking at them for a while.” I even wore them to church…

Here’s how the whole outfit looks like — I paired them up with a denim sundress, cropped motorcycle jacket, leather interwoven gold bracelet and Balenciaga marine brief bag. It was basically a blue/black/brown neutral theme.

They are kind of difficult to sit down comfortably in, though. Just a word of caution — don’t try to sit in any position except the one where you place two feet on the ground or you’d end up with many ‘imprints’ on your legs from the studs on the sandals! Anyhoo, I got them from Saks’ sale and they went off quickly after I bought them so I lucked out? Not very cheap for such trendy shoes however but oh well, I really do like them! But I need to wear them more because after those photos, I’ve only worn them once, lol.

Gotta go dream of more shoes, nights!
